Curator's Note

Other Common Names
Striped Sea Hare, Chelidonura inermis
Description
The Giant Striped Sea Slug tops out at over 8" when fully grown making it one of the largest in it's family. In the wild, they feed on bubble shell snails and nudibranchs. In captivity, these slugs have been known to eat the dreaded Montipora eating nudibranchs and have become a popular choice in the control of these voracious pests. They will consume other snails in the aquarium as well so care must be used. They will usually ship no more than 2" long so most snails will be left alone while slug is small.
