Eels; beloved by Romans, feared by the feint of heart and alluring to the aquarist, marine eels have a sorted history in terms of their relationship with humans. The vast majority should absolutely never be considered for the home aquarium, but the several eels that are appropriate, can (and do) make excellent specimens given their adaptability, interesting behavior and hardiness.
