Description

The original Remora Hang-On Skimmer was introduced in 1999, and since that time it has become one of the best-selling skimmers in the world. The Remora skimmers are designed to hang on the back of your aquarium, taking up as little space as possible. Driven by a powerful spray-injector, these skimmers are sleek, reliable, and nearly maintenance-free. The Remora is built from translucent gray acrylic to inhibit the growth of algae and marine organisms.

The Remora is an efficient hang-on skimmer that does not require the use of a sump. Simply hang it on the back of your tank, plug it in, and you're ready to go. Just like our larger EV models, the Remora is driven by a powerful spray injector and a strong pump. Includes nylon cleaning brush to clean out the spray injector, through an access screw, and an EPDM o-ring for collection cup adjustment. The two screws at the base of the skimmer are used to adjust the Remora so that it is level with the back of the tank. This skimmer can be ordered with a collection drain fitting (optional). We offer a surface prefilter accessory for this skimmer.

Tech Notes

Protein skimmers generally work better in "saltier" water. If you are running an exceptionally low salinity to combat diseases such as ich, keep in mind that a side effect might be decreased foam production.
