The Harlequin Tuskfish is a colorful and ferocious looking fish. All is not how it seems with this fish as the only thing it is usually aggressive with is shrimp, crabs and other motile invertebrates. They are usually shy and docile and until established, is most often picked on by other fish in the tank. Once established however, it may become aggressive to new additions – especially if they are very small.
Wrasses are known to jump from aquariums. Be sure to have some sort of covering with no large open holes that they can escape from.
Though most wrasses are shy on initial introduction, they will become bold eaters.
Feed a varied diet consisting of large chunks of meaty foods. These foods include krill, raw table shrimp, squid, clam and mussel. It is also a good idea to occasionally supplement with some type of herbivore diet.
